About Pedernales Cellars

Pedernales Cellars is located in Stonewall, just east of Fredericksburg in the very heart of the Hill Country. Our family has been growing Texas grapes for 15 years, and in that time we have learned that only when you find balance with the land and the grapes do great wines emerge. Here you will see that in everything from the varietals we grow to the geothermal cooled underground cellar, we work with the Central Texas soils to make truly exceptional wines.

Texas Viognier (House White): A splendid example of the Viognier varietal characteristics, this wine conveys aromas of grapefruit, orange, peach, and honey with a crisp and clean dry finish.

The vintage was harvested at the Reddy and Bingham vineyards of the High Plains. It is un-oaked and did not undergo malolactic fermentation, giving the wine a clean, crisp character.

Texas Tempranillo (House Red): Tempranillo is our premier varietal and the heart of our winemaking program. This vintage is a rich red with an earthy mineral nose and hints of cherry and dark chocolate. The color is brick red to purple with a medium body and a moderate spiciness to the finish.

Made primarily with fruit from the Texas Hill Country, the wine was aged in French and American oak barrels.
