Does Eating Local Honey Help Reduce Allergies?

Some say yes (quote: “almost all evidence regarding the immunizing effects of eating honey is anecdotal, but these reports have proven persuasive enough for some people to try to fight their seasonal allergies by eating honey every day”), some say no (due to a lack of conclusive, peer-reviewed studies, there’s really no real evidence). Anyone have any insight or experience?
