How to Recycle Holiday Lights

with one comment

Got a burned-out string of lights? Or ones you don’t plan to use anymore? Not to worry, once again Earth911 has tips on how to handle tricky-to-recycle-things like holiday lights. Their advice: if the string of lights in question is still working, you may want to sell or trade them online, or donate them to a thrift store, or dedicate them to another project in some way before sending them to a recycling facility.

However, if they’re truly kaput, you can send them to HolidayLEDS where they will be broken down and “sorted into the various components that make up the lights (pvc, glass, copper.)” In exchange for your defunct lights, HolidayLEDS offers a 25% off coupon good for new holiday lights, or anything else on their site. Nice incentive!
