Daily Recipe: Classic Beer Bread

with one comment

Election night is over, the sun is shining AND we’re featuring the return of Lone Star’s Bock.

Today is going to be a good day.

To celebrate the rerelease of the Bock, we’re hosting a Keep the Pint Night. Which is exactly what it sounds like. Come to in.gredients from 7-9 pm, buy a pint of lone star, and keep the glass.

We only have 50, so it’ll be first come, first serve.

It only seems fitting to feature a daily recipe where one of the main ingredients is beer. This classic beer bread is simple and has a thick, buttery crust that aims to please.

Happy eating!

Classic Beer Bread

From Dine and Dish

  • 3 cups flour, sifted, not packed ($1.50 for 3 cups)
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar ($.20 for 1/4 cup)
  • 12 oz of beer
  • 1 stick butter, melted ($1.50)

Approximate total for in.gredients: $6.50

Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees F.

In a medium bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients. Add beer and stir with a wooden spoon until well incorporated.

Grease the loaf pan and pour beer bread batter into pan. Pour melted butter over the top of the beer bread batter. Bake for one hour. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 15 minutes before removing from the pan.
