ATX Featured Blogger: Mary Makes Dinner

with 3 comments

Have we mentioned how thrilled we are about living in a city with such a wealth of food bloggers? From farmers to chefs, the amount of knowledge you can absorb from their blogs is astounding. Thank heavens for a blogger like Mary. Having been professionally trained in French, Japanese and Chinese cuisines, hers isn’t your typical food blog.

Mary Makes Dinner is a blog that inspires you to cook. Well organized and colorful, her recipes are easy to follow, her writing style witty, and her dishes delicious. Her recipe page even has a guide, marking which dishes are vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free. A foodies dream.

When you visit her page, you know the recipe you encounter will be mouth-wateringly delicious. Take for example the recipe she created for in.gredients. Just a quick tour around the store and she developed Sweets-n-Grits with Garlic Collard Greens. And this was after I suggested using collard greens (a vegetable she doesn’t love) because a lot of people don’t know what to do with them. This recipe, both the grits and the collards, are great to try any day of the week, but seem especially fitting for Thanksgiving. If you’re still trying to figure out what side dish to pair with your turkey, consider picking up a bunch of collard greens and whipping them up, Mary Makes Dinner style. You won’t be disappointed.

She’s a food blogging star, after all.

You can find her recipe here. Happy eating!
