Our New Community Non-Profit Partner: SafePlace

leave a comment »

We’re happy to announce that our next Community Non-Profit Partner is SafePlace, a nonprofit working to end domestic violence in Austin.

SafePlace envisions a community free of rape, sexual abuse and domestic violence. They are ending sexual and domestic violence through safety, healing, prevention and social change. SafePlace provides safety for individuals and families affected by sexual and domestic violence. They help victims in their healing so they can move beyond being defined by crimes committed against them, and become survivors. They promote safe and healthy relationships for the prevention of sexual and domestic violence.

As our community partner, we will donate $.05 for every reusable container filled at the store. That means when you fill your reusable mason jar, you’ll not only be diverting trash from the landfill (zero waste for the win!), you’ll also be giving back to an important community organization.  There will be additional opportunities to raise money for SafePlace, so stay tuned on how you can give back to this amazing and important organization.

Donations for SafePlace will begin on Tuesday, October 1st. Until then, your money is going to Empower Art, a non- profit organization whose mission is to facilitate healing and empowerment for adolescent survivors of family and sexual violence through various forms of creative expression.
