Weekly Recipe

Cold Brew Coffee, the Third Coast Way!
Use our Coffee of the Month, the same beans Third Coast uses for their delicious ¡Frios Mio! and you’ve got a professional quality cold brew right at home.  
Start the easy way: The easiest method to making cold brew is to just use a French Press. Just be sure to use coarsely ground coffee and try and let the beans age for at least 3-5 days before use.


  • a finely woven bag (muslin bag or coffee sock)
  • clean drinking water
  • plenty of time
  • good coarsely ground coffee
  • a paper filter (not necessary but it helps!)


The set up is pretty basic. Just line your container with a finely woven bag or cloth (a muslin bag works great!), or place a paper filter inside a submersible mesh screen. Then dump your coffee in and fill your container with water. Tie off your bag, cloth, or filter and before putting it in the fridge or setting it aside, make sure the grounds are completely soaked and saturated. As far as amounts and ratios go, start with about 80oz of water to every 10oz of coffee. Don’t be afraid to experiment and try new things, though! Let it sit and steep for a minimum of 12 hours. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Third Coast directly – they’d be glad to help you out. Lastly, be sure to compost those spent coffee grinds or add them straight into the garden!
