Rise Up Singing on the Lawn

Wed, Sept 16th, 7-9pm

This week our Store Manager, Josh, kicks off hosting a bi-monthly sing-a-long in our yard on alternating Wednesdays.  All are welcome, whether you love to sing and play or just enjoy listening.  We’ll have a few song books for sharing but more the merrier! 

Porch Session with The Landers/Marshall Duo

Fri, Sept 18th, 7-9pm

The Landers/Marshall Duo debuts their folksy harmonies on our porch this Friday evening.  Bring a friend, a date, or the kids and start your weekend with a relaxing set of live tunes under the stars.  

Service Industry Nights w/ Silverfox

Mon, Sept 21st, 7-9pm

Mondays this month we’re celebrating our friends in the service industry with a night of a la carte music by the talented Dylan Goodhue. Food and drink specials, a “song menu,” and a beautiful outdoor space to enjoy it in. 

Weekly Recipe

Breakfast Polenta with Chorizo and Cheese



  • 1 1/3 cups crumbled queso fresco or feta cheese (about 6 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 3 1/4 cups water
  • 1 cup polenta (coarse yellow cornmeal) or regular cornmeal
  • 1 pound yellow corn kernels, cooked
  • 1 pound fresh link chorizo sausage, casings removed
  • 1 pound cherry tomatoes (about 3 1/2 cups)


  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Toss cheese and cilantro in small bowl. Mix 3 1/4 cups water, polenta, and corn kernels in 13x9x2-inch glass baking dish. Sprinkle generously with salt and pepper and stir to blend well. Bake until water is absorbed and polenta is tender, stirring once, about 25 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, sauté chorizo in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat until browned, breaking into small pieces with side of wooden spoon, about 6 minutes. Add cherry tomatoes to skillet. Cover, reduce heat to medium, and simmer until tomatoes soften, about 6 minutes.
  • Uncover; crush some tomatoes with fork. Simmer until tomatoes release juices and sauce thickens slightly, about 10 minutes.
  • Spoon polenta onto plates. Top with chorizo mixture, then cheese mixture.

Community Spotlight

Dojour is a brand new events sharing platform developed by a few passionate locals here in Austin.  Their aim is to create a tool to help people actually engage with each other. If Instagram is full of things you missed out on, Dojour is for things you can take part in. In this way, they hope to help businesses and individuals create community.  We dig their mission and so far really like the platform.  Signing up means making it super easy to keep you and your friends in the loop about cool things going on around town (including here at in.gredients!).  Give it a try and let us know what you think.
