Holiday Wine Specials

Enjoy 10% off each of these stellar wines, hand-picked to complement whatever’s on the holiday menu this week.

Sparkling Wine of the Week

Sparkling Wine

Texas Sparkling wines are rare and this one is pretty unusual—created by McPherson’s winemaker and his brother in California. Each has a successful career but together they make a dynamic winemaking duo, creating this little number on the side. The wine has a bright acidity and just a touch of sweetness. Remember: Fizz = Fun!

Red Wine of the Week

Texas High Plains Monte Sec
2013 Montepulciano

Deep red in color, perfumed-complex ripe aromatics of plum and blackberries, Montepulciano is medium bodied with rich, lush, expansive tannins. The Aglianico and  Barbera contribute to the firm tannins. Watch for this wine to age gracefully through 2018. Try Montepulciano with your favorite cut of beef, or your favorite
pasta with a zesty, spicy red sauce. Salute!!

White Wine of the Week

Becker Vineyards
2014 Texas Sauvignon Blanc

This white wine is full, rich and ready for even the toughest of red wine drinkers! Vines are over 20 years old and producing a near perfect white Bordeaux wine. High notes of tropical fruit, lime and perfume of white rose and apple. This wine is perfect chilled on the porch for a Texas Sunset, but be careful it maybe just perfect enough to last till sunrise! This wine was fermented in French oak as well as in cold tank, aged for 9 months prior to bottling. Crisp, fruit forward dry white wine great for all occasions.

Cider of the Week

Texas Keeper
Heirloom Small Batch Cider

Texas Keeper Heirloom is a cider blended from three classic American heirloom apples. A portion of Heirloom was aged in lightly toasted french oak contributing structure to this exceptional cider.

Weekly Recipe

Find a ready-made kit for this DIY scrub on our end cap near the milk cooler.  This would make a great gift, we promise!

Sylvia’s DIY Oats + Honey Scrub

  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup sugar or salt–when choosing sugar or salt, pick something ground finely. Coarse sea salt or turbinado sugar are usually too rough, especially if using the scrub on the face.
  • 2 tbs baking soda
  • 1/4 cup raw local honey
  • 1/4 cup moisturizing oil like sweet almond or jojoba
  • 8-10 drops of essential oils–peppermint, lavender and tea tree are all great for the skin!

This recipe is very forgiving and easy to customize and great for sensitive skin!
  1. Put rolled oats into a food processor and grind until a fine powder is formed.
  2. Mix the ground oats, sugar/salt and baking soda in a bowl.
  3. Pour the honey and the oil onto the dry ingredients and mix with a fork.
  4. Add essential oils and mix again
Store in refrigerator for up to a week.
