Will Puma Create the World’s First Compostable Shoe?

with 2 comments

Puma designs and manufactures snazzy sneakers in Germany, where there’s a strong country-wide dedication to improving sustainability. The company, acting in harmony with its country’s values, has already spearheaded cutting-edge, eco-friendly technologies and practices. A compostable (and water-soluble) shopping bag to replace shoe boxes, and a line of shoes made entirely of recycled material are just two examples.

Now the company has started researching how to make a shoe that when spent, will contribute to the vitality of your backyard and garden instead of becoming a burden to be buried in the landfill. Wow! Impressive. It’s probably pretty difficult to find many uses for old sneakers, so props to Puma for figuring out a good environmental solution for them.
